VIOLIN TOTEM
Violin Totem: Songs and Dances (2023) is an experimental and deeply evocative album where the violin becomes a vessel for Native American musical traditions. Through extensive research into indigenous scales, modes, and performance practices, Navid Hejazi reimagines the violin to emulate the expressive qualities of the Native American flute.
This original work consists of 12 distinct pieces, each dedicated to a significant animal from various Native American tribes. Every animal carries its own spiritual symbolism, which is reflected in the music through a unique scale and emotional character. The pieces are thoughtfully divided into two categories — Songs and Dances — according to the spirit and energy of each animal.
Blending rich improvisation with thematic development and flute-like violin techniques, the album creates a powerful fusion of contemporary string artistry and ancient indigenous inspiration.

MEDITATIONS
Meditations (2020) is a deeply personal and introspective album born from Navid Hejazi’s experience performing the violin live for audiences. Created as a musical reflection on connection, energy, and inner experience, the album features 10 original pieces that range from serene and contemplative to more dynamic and expressive.
Drawing inspiration from both Indigenous North American traditions and classic American fiddle music, the works blend rich melodic themes with free improvisation. The calmer pieces emphasize atmosphere and emotional depth, while the more dynamic compositions explore greater creativity, energy, and virtuosity.
Among the works, the piece “Thoughts” stands out as a special homage to Nikola Tesla’s fascination with the numbers 3, 6, and 9 — which he described as “a key to the universe.” Through intricate thematic development and mathematical proportions in the music, this track translates Tesla’s vision into a captivating sonic journey.

Outlaws and Sunsets: Wild West Strings (2023) is a vibrant and cinematic celebration of the American West, reimagined through rich string ensemble textures. Featuring violins, violas, cellos, guitars, mandolins, banjos, and more, the album masterfully blends traditional country and bluegrass fiddle techniques with sweeping cinematic orchestration.
Inspired by classic Western adventure films and the golden age of spaghetti westerns, this collection paints vivid sonic landscapes — from vast desert horizons and dramatic train chases to rowdy saloon brawls and contemplative sunsets. Every track captures the spirit of adventure, freedom, and romanticized outlaw life, delivering a fun, energetic, and immersive musical journey.

Intangible: Modified Strings (2024) is a bold and innovative sonic exploration where the acoustic violin undergoes a profound digital transformation. All instruments were recorded live by Navid Hejazi and then meticulously manipulated using electronic processing, turning organic string sounds into ethereal, otherworldly textures.
